The future... destroyed. The only thing standing between utter obliviation and survival was the child of the saiyan Goku. This child, now an adult, lived throughout his life without his father after a severe virus attacked his heart and ended his life... this child is Gohan. His world has consisted of pain and suffering, watching the very people that helped raise him perish before the Androids, a duo of destructive power and completely merciless, not cherishing any sort of life. This is what motivated Gohan to continue on, living and surviving another day in hopes that he could one day kill these monsters and save his world.
"Gohan, its time to wake up." He shook his head, his vision still blurred after a nights rest. He soon leaned up, his clothing lying on the hard-wood floor scattered around in various places. In a world of war he had managed to find the only place he could truly have peace, the remains of what was his home as a child. He soon stood up, his mother standing there grabbing his clothes and throwing them into the hamper. "I swear Gohan, your just like your father. Neither of you ever learned how to pick up after yourselves!" He merely gave her a smile, much of the roofing was still intact in this place which managed to keep the heat within their home and keep the cold nights air out. Gohan often took it as a compliment to be referred to be just like his father, he had shaped much of his life in an attempt to be just like him... kind-hearted and gentle, yet capable of causing so much destruction at the same time.
"What time is it?", Gohan asked politely to his mother, his voice somewhat scratchy as a hint of him still awakening. He soon began to wipe his eyes, his vision soon becoming clear, yet he squinted to keep the light from getting in his eyes. He seen that his mother was out in the hallway, "A little past eleven, why honey?". While she spoke to him, Gohan had managed to fully wake himself up and get up out of bed. His feet hit the wood floor gently and quietly, he was planning on sneaking out the window to escape from doing any work. He soon slipped on his pants and shirt and then grabbed the remainder of his clothes, sprinting for the open window. He leaped and managed to make it out, but he didn't get far soon afterwards, his mothers grip on the back of his collar pulled him and caused him to yank suddenly back, his back hitting the wall outside. "Oh no you don't! You don't get out of it that easily!"
Gohan could only think 'so close... how does she always know?' He was soon pulled back in the window by his mother and thrown onto the floor. From there Gohan slipped on his boots, wrist-bands, and the second layer of his Gi, making him fully-clothed now. Gohan dressed in his fathers old clothing, thinking it was the best way to bring honor to himself, wearing the clothing of his hero and the savior of many. He soon stood up, dusting his clothes off and pushing his hair out of his eyes, which his were soon met by his mother. "Its time for your chores Gohan. I need you to go out and get us some more fire-wood, we're running low. After that you can go out and have fun with your little friends..."
The thought passing through Gohans head now was 'shes really taking it easy on me today...' He gave his mother a smile and looked out the window, looking out at the massive trees still growing. He would need to go and locate one large enough to last them awhile, after all with all the holes in their home from the attacks the heat leaked out much quicker than it did in his youth. "Alright I'll go do that for you mom." Gohan exclaimed to his mother, sitting on the window-sill and then soon leaping out into the air and there he floated before he suddenly became surrounded by a glowing white-aura as he burst high into the air.
He could still smell the morning dew from the ground below, he often enjoyed its scent, to him it smelled as if it were the planet was healing, using this liquid to cover the world and try to being anew. As he remained high in the air, just slightly below the clouds, he soon found a tree that looked to be massive enough to hold them over for a few months. From there he burst down to the tree-line, halting at the tree he was looking for and floated there for a moment. He soon extended his leg straight and slowly floated to the ground. The forest was strong in the scent of pine, another scent he often enjoyed. He loved nature just as much as he loved the lives of those he cares about, it was one of his many pleasures in which he enjoyed from life and one of the few still around.
He soon walked up to the massive tree, it was sturdy and he began to inspect it at the trunk. As he looked it over, looking for any weak-point in order to have an easier and straighter break, it didn't take long until he found what he was looking for. From this position he put his leg behind his other, turning him side-ways and facing the tree. He breathed slowly, in through the nose and out through the mouth. Suddenly he thrust his hand forward with immense speed and force, his hand stopping a mere inch from the trunk. He stood there for a few seconds and then suddenly he heard a sound... *crack*. The tree soon began to split around it and within moments it came down towards Gohan. He showed no facial expression of worry, having done this many times. From his current stance he placed both hands up above his head, keeping them bent and unlocked to prevent injury and braced his legs for impact.
The tree came down, landing on Gohans' hands with much force. He seemed to struggle for only a moment and soon then began to slowly rise from the ground until finally he was standing straight up holding the massive tree within his two hands. He thought for a moment, soon discovering his whereabouts and what direction he needed to wander to get back. He began to walk slowly in an attempt to keep himself from knocking down more trees and keep balance with the other. It took him around a time-span of nearly ten minutes to manage to get it back, only to be met by his mother as he dropped the tree onto the ground. "Now cut the wood Gohan, we need it in smaller portions... I'm getting too old to do it myself."
Gohan sighed slightly as he listened to his mothers demand, it was never a request from her. "Alright mom, can I leave after I'm done?" She just gave him another one of her nods, which was always inconclusive since you could never tell if she was entirely serious about whether or not she meant it since she might just decide there might be even more work. Gohan soon walked over to a log in, which they put the ax into every night in order to keep track of it, and pulled out the ax and walked up to the end of the wood, facing the flat bottom in which was a result in him breaking the tree. He focused and then soon brought the ax down, the intense force from it caused the tree to part directly down the middle until it finally broke at the tip.
Now broken in two, he then sent another slice at one half, breaking that into two and then did the same with the other, now resulting in four massively long sections of a tree. For the next several hours he began to chop, rigorously, in an attempt to cut them down into a decent in which they could be used. It took him nearly four hours to accomplish this and upon achieving this it was a little past Three-Thirty P.M. "Oh no, I forgot!" Gohan yelled as he suddenly leaped into the air and burst off west. In the air he could see below the destruction the Androids had caused, craters left behind and a graveyard of twisted metal from the militaries they destroyed with little to no effort. So much pain and suffering... so much death. Gohan wished he could end it and with each fight against the duo his power grew, for each battle a saiyan had their power grew substantially than before, a bonus of being his fathers son.
As he burst faster to his destination, he soon saw it over the horizon, the remnants of what was once the proud city known as West City. He was to meet Bulma and use her gravity chamber, for she had recently made a device that was able to increase to level of gravity, much like the one his father used during his trip to Namek. The machine that could allow such advanced levels of training would be necessary if he ever wished to ascend his powers to the next level and finally be able to end the torture everyone endures from the mere fear of not knowing when their number will be up. He soon arrived at what remained of Capsule Corp, much of the roofing destroyed, leaving only the basement the only truly secure and safe zone in the entire building. It was here that Bulma had made a new gravity chamber to ensure that it wasn't destroyed by the androids on the surface above.
Gohan soon walked down the steps, noticing a familiar figure standing over some sort of device with a welding mask on and sparks flying. "Bulma?" With saying her name she dropped the welder and turned slowly. It had been nearly one year since he had stopped by for a visit, his time was often spent trying to remove the Androids that was causing so much pain and suffering and therefore really didn't have time to visit that often. Shortly after she ran and wrapped her arms around Gohans' neck, giving him a hug. "Gohan! Your still alive! I'm so glad to see you..." She then let him go, her welding gloves were still on her hands and didn't even bother to take them off when she charged with her hug.
"Hey Gohan...", spoke yet another familiar voice, he turned to see the young Trunks, the teenage son of Vegeta and still growing. "Hey Trunks, what have you done recently?" Trunks just walked up and laid down a bag of food in front of Gohan and Bulma, "Training and helping mom out with her machine. I hope it works the way it was meant to. All we have to use to make these inventions anymore is just scrap parts we find around the city." Gohan just looked at Bulma after he said that, 'hope it works? I guess they really wouldn't have had anyone to test it out yet except for the really low levels.' He gave Bulma a comforting smile before he spoke again, "Can you show me the gravity chamber you made?" She then nodded, "follow me."
She began to wander deeper within the earths core, the walls grew more cold and even became slightly damp as they ventured further. It wasn't much longer afterwards they were in an underground room full of the much larger and more dangerous inventions and standing directly in the middle was a familiar ship, a ship that resembled his fathers from Namek. Bulma walked up to the large spherical ship and hit a switch, sending a massive door lowering to the ground with a set of steps attached in order to allow quick entry. "Go ahead inside Gohan."
As he ventured inside, one step at a time, he was met by a massive room, the floor covered in some sort of high-density alloy more than likely concealed the high-tech machinery beneath it and protected it from the same gravity it generated. Shortly after entering he hit a switch on the wall, the pods door closing behind him, sealing him within. It was at this moment that he realized how warm it truly was in the room, quite possibly to make the user sweat more and burn off more calories, reducing their body fat. The solution was simple, Gohan merely took off his two layers of upper-clothing, boots, and his wrist-bands to help reduce the heat.
He ventured to the center of the machine and hit the digit to increase the gravity, boosting it to ten times that of earths. "May as well start on the easier levels, don't want to strain myself." He hit a large button below the arrows and digits and was suddenly pulled down, his legs becoming bent as he braced himself for the intense level of gravity he was starting to endure. Much like the lumber from earlier, he slowly raised as his body held itself together with each fiber of his muscle and from there he noticed several tiny spherical robots were now floating in the air, another invention from Bulma to make it so they endured combat while inside.
It wasn't shortly after the machine began that one of the small bots shot a laser from a tiny opening, hitting Gohan directly in the shoulder and giving him a slight cut. The attacks weren't powerful, but they certainly would cause pain if struck by one. He counted them out, getting to the number of ten tiny bots and then suddenly they all unleashed fire upon him at a rapid rate. The first few beams he merely ducked down, his hands touching the ground and before he knew what was happening he saw another machine directly in front of him, quickly unleashing another beam directly at his face. Gohan pushed with his left arm and leg, sending himself spinning off to the right in the air and landing back onto his hands.
Suddenly he heard another beam launched at him from above, 'these things are awfully persistent' Gohan thought to himself. He quickly pushed on his arms, sending himself flipping upside-down and his feet kicking the blast away and striking the tiny bot. Unfortunately what happened next Gohan didn't expect... the bots had been designed with a shielding system, protecting them from several attacks before they were able to be damaged, 'Thanks Bulma' was the only thing he could think to himself now.
As he landed on his hands and jumped back into a fighting stance, landing on his legs, he suddenly heard the machine speak. "Progressive Gravity Mode Active: Gravity Increased to Times-Twenty". Suddenly Gohan was pulled down, his muscles had not been expecting the gravity and he fell to the ground onto his hands and knees. "Well this is new..." Gohan exclaimed with smile across his face and sweat rolling down his brow and dripping onto the hard floor. He suddenly heard multiple attacks unleashed, ten blasts striking him directly in the back and sending a rush of pain to Gohan. His back now had ten little dots on it with blood running from it down to his sides, this machine had definitely been designed to be a challenge, even for Gohan.
He suddenly pushed himself up onto his feet, breathing heavily from the intense physical power it required for him to do so. As he struggled to rise, the machines showed no mercy and continued their onslaught of attacks, putting a few more dots across his arms and legs. His body soon became used to the gravity on a small level, allowing him to rise and move somewhat more easily. It was then he began to do flips, ending with his back against the wall. The machines lined up in front, charged their attacks, and then unleashed them.
Gohan had a plan for this, a way to deal with removing one on the hit-count of the bots. As the beams approached Gohan lunged into the air, spun so that his feet were against the roofing, and then held both his hands at the side. Suddenly they began to glow and soon he thrust them forward, unleashing two powerful blasts at the group. As each one struck, they were reflected back at Gohan, another surprise that Gohan had not expected. He leaped through the air to the ground, intending the attacks to strike the wall and dissipated , if only he had been so lucky.
Shortly after he dismounted his location two more of these bots moved to his old location, reflecting the attacks once again at Gohan. As he landed on his feet and turned, he soon saw the incoming attacks, smacking one away and punching the other in half, causing his hand to bleed somewhat. His eyes were focused now on his own energy attack as it bounced around from bot to bot until finally it came flying at him. He soon managed to grasp it in his own hands, his feet skidding against the ground as he slid across it, soon he realized his own attack was a distraction as he noticed the bots began to charge up their lasers. He then thrust the attack forward, sending it into one of them and obliterating them... he had found their weak point.
The only weakness he could see was that while they were charging, their shielding was gone, a bonus for him since it would allow him to remove them much quicker than before. Suddenly the machine spoke again, "Gravity Rate Increased: Gravity is now at Thirty-Times". Suddenly Gohan was brought to the ground once again, unsure of how much more his body could take of this today, the piercing stings came once again as the bots unleashed their attacks upon him once again. His body was in severe pain now, the piercings all over his body were now many and the intense gravity pulling down upon him was not making his injuries any more pleasurable.
As he managed to push himself back to his feet, his body was struck by more blasts of the other nine remaining nine bots unleashed there attacks upon him... shortly after he stood there and waited. Suddenly he saw them begin to charge once again and from there he grasped two of them, one in each hand, and threw them at two others, causing four of them to explode. From here he merely flipped backwards, each foot striking another and causing them to be blown to bits, leaving now only four more. He was unsure of how much more his body would be able to handle until it finally gave way.
He leaped into the air at the last moment, the attacks just barely going under him. His body was drenched in sweat and some blood droplets across his entire body from each tiny wound across his body. Suddenly he felt his body begin to feel as if it was about to cave in as he heard the machine power up again, "Gravity Rate Increased: Gravity is now at Fifty-Times." Gohan suddenly had a confused look... the machine must've had a glitch, for it jumped up twice rather than once. The intense gravity caused him to collapse to the ground, he began to try and push himself up but he only let out screams of pain with each inch he pushed. The intense gravity was the limit of his body could handle, any farther and it would probably cause him serious injuries.
He slowly raised to his feet, his knees almost buckling from the intense weight as he was blasted more and more from each of the bots. His speed was suffering severely at this intense gravity, if he could catch one of the bots now it would be just barely... and so he used the only weapon he still could use, his energy. He pulled his arms up slowly, feeling as if the gravity was going to rip them right out of the sockets, the bots continuing to fire and put new holes into his chest. His hands suddenly began to glow as did the eyes of the bots until suddenly, he unleashed two massive waves, the bots not having enough reaction time to be able to stop the attacks and therefore were destroyed. It was at this moment the machine talked once again, "Combat Training Completed: Gravity Restored."
As the gravity shut off, Gohan collapsed to the ground, the very fiber of each of his muscles felt as if they were torn apart. He soon lost conciousness, his body worn out and exhausted from the intense level of training he had just performed, well beyond that of anything he had suffered yet. He felt himself being lifted from the ground and carried away, shortly after that his senses were entirely gone, leaving him in darkness...
